Scott McKinley

Scott R. McKinley (he/him) is a narrator, actor and teaching consultant, based in the New York Metro area. Prior to engaging in voice work, he spent fifteen years in the book industry as a bookstore manager, and then had a second career in tech support as a trainer and content creator within the workforce management industry. Currently he voices audiobooks, performs in audio dramas, and does historical presentations.

His audiobook presentation of Lennon, The Mobster, and the Lawyer by Jay Bergen was nominated for an IPPY Award. This led to him voicing She Loves You: Volume 3 of The John Lennon Series by Jude Southerland Kessler, a 33-hour long audiobook voicing The Beatles as well as 179 other people in the book. Scott attends The Fest for Beatles Fans regularly in NYC and Chicago to support both authors, as well as to participate in panels.

Scott's recent audiobook, "Bathsheba Spooner: A Revolutionary Murder Conspiracy" by Andrew Noone, for which he did English, Scottish and Irish accents, was shortlisted for a SOVAS Award, and went on to win a silver IPPY award.

Scott has appeared in such shows as ‘Madison on the Air’, Hot Copy Radio Theater, ‘Project Audion’, and has had roles in Roi Gold’s “Land Whale Murders’, ‘BeatleDrama: A Day in Their Life’ as well as a recurring role in Lengthy Tangent LLC’s Peculiar Radio’, for which he was also a writer. He enjoys acting, and is taking classes at LaGuardia Studios in New Jersey to pursue that vocation further. Scott is passionate about history, the telling of true stories, and works towards telling or voicing his favorite subjects with every project he takes on - except for those that are just plain fun (or especially funny)!

He lives in New Jersey with his wife, Jeanne. They have two sons, named Richard and Kevin, a few dead plants, and no pets at the moment.
